Your holiday package includes two days of 4WD coach touring with an expert local guide uncovering secret hidden gems and all the renowned attractions on the largest sand island in the world, as you relax in air-conditioned comfort. Enjoy a one-night stay at the superbly located K'gari Beach Resort along 75 Mile Beach, and a pre-night and post-tour stay at the award-winning Kingfisher Bay Resort.
Here's what you'll see:
- Lake McKenzie (Boorangoora): K'gari's most iconic, picture-perfect swimming spot! Immerse yourself in the crystal-clear blue fresh water and relax on the sandy white beaches.
- 75 Mile Beach: As you travel along this golden beach highway, you may spot dingoes, birds of prey flying above, or humpback whales, migrating down the coast (between July – October).
- Pile Valley: Wander through the subtropical rainforest and marvel at the centuries-old Satinay trees and towering palms.
- Champagne Pools: Take a dip in this amazing natural jacuzzi, as waves crash over the volcanic rock into beautiful bubbling pools.
- Eli Creek: Float gently down this tranquil, tree-lined creek with four million litres of fresh water flowing into the Pacific Ocean every hour.
- Maheno Shipwreck: Marvel at the rustic wreck of the Maheno, which washed ashore during an out-of-season cyclone in 1935. It’s one of K’gari’s most recognisable sites.
- The Pinnacles Coloured Sands: Learn about these radiant, cliff-like sand formations and the Indigenous Dreamtime stories that surround them. Get up close and experience the spectacular 72 shades of rare red, orange and yellow sands.
- Indian Head: Cruise past the most easterly point of the island, which is home to marine life such as turtles and rays, often spotted in the waters around the base of this rocky headland.
- Lake Wabby: Trek across the desert-like Hammerstone Sandblow and be rewarded with a panorama of ocean, lake and forest surrounds, before plunging into this emerald green freshwater oasis. (Please note: this is a 4km return walk through bushland and across soft sands - a moderate fitness level is required. The Lake Wabby walk is an optional activity).
- Central Station: A former logging station that housed schools and shops for the bustling timber industry is now a tourist stop. Stroll along the Wanggoolba Creek boardwalk to discover the ancient King Ferns, towering Flooded Gums and Pine trees.
Illumina Light Show
Illumina will light up the skies with an all-new light and sound spectacle at Kingfisher Bay Resort. Using the surrounding native environment as an artistic platform, Illumina will tell the island’s story in a modern, theatrical interpretation, immersing guests into the brilliance of K’gari (Fraser Island) and sharing stories about the incredible ecosystem that has been recognised on the World Heritage-list for over thirty years. The all-new installation is the first permanent light, laser and projection experience of its kind in Queensland.

Itinerary
Pre-night Stay | Arriving to K'gari (Fraser Island)
Arriving into K'gari (Fraser Island) ex-Hervey Bay:
Your four-day adventure begins with your choice of ferry to Kingfisher Bay Resort.
Self-drive to Hervey Bay, or fly via major capital cities to Hervey Bay Airport.
Courtesy transfers are available to/from the airport or select locations in Hervey Bay to align with your selected ferry arrival time.
On the day of arrival, travel from River Heads on the barge crossing of your choice. (Ferry time must be selected at time of booking). Check into your accommodation (after 2.00pm) at Kingfisher Bay Resort (Standard hotel room - upgrades are available).

Kingfisher Bay Resort is a 4-Star integrated eco accommodation, immersed within the tree-covered dunes along the western bay of K’gari. The resort caters to families with a suite of interconnecting hotel rooms, spacious multi-bedroom villas, four lagoon-style swimming pools that are perfect for little ones to splash and play, kids' menus at all restaurants, as well as direct access to the calm, western beach. Room upgrades are available by request at time of check-in (additional charges apply).
Based on K’gari’s iconic 75 Mile Beach, K’gari Beach Resort offers a coastal paradise closer to lesser known but equally spectacular spots, such as the hidden oasis of Lake Wabby.
Tour accommodation includes recently renovated standard hotel rooms with tea and coffee-making facilities, a balcony or a patio. These rooms also come with ceiling fans to increase airflow, however, if you would like an air-conditioned room, please request an upgrade at time of check-in.
Day 2: Commence K'gari (Fraser Island) Two-Day Tour
- 7.00am: Breakfast at Sand & Wood restaurant.
- 9.00am: Prepare overnight belongings – additional luggage can remain in your Kingfisher Bay Resort Hotel Room, until your return.
- 9.30am: Arrive at the Sunset Bar for a prompt departure. Courtesy bus is available from reception.
- 9.45am: Depart Kingfisher Bay Resort and begin K’gari two-day tour.
- Tour inclusions: Embark on a discovery of K'gari's iconic locations - refer to Here's What You'll See section. Itinerary may vary due to tides.
- Lunch: K’gari Beach Resort.
- 5.30pm: Arrival and check in at K’gari Beach Resort.
- 6.30pm: Dinner at leisure at McKenzie’s on 75 restaurant. Pool table and drinks available at McKenzie’s Bar until late.
Please note: Dinner and drinks are an additional expense.
Day 3: K'gari (Fraser Island) Tour Continued
- 7.00am: Breakfast at McKenzie’s on 75 restaurant.
- 8.00am: Tour departure from outside reception.
- Tour Inclusions: Refer to Here's What You'll See section. Itinerary may vary due to tides.
- Lunch: Picnic lunch on tour along with morning/afternoon tea.
- Depart your final island tour location and return to your Kingfisher Bay Resort accommodation.
- Dinner at leisure (additional cost).
Please Note: On departure, if you would like your bags collected by our porter service, please arrange this on day three of your stay.
Day 4: Departure
- From 6.30am: Breakfast at Sand & Wood restaurant.
- Enjoy full access to Kingfisher Bay Resort facilities.
- Return ferry transfer back to the mainland on the barge crossing of your choice~ (Includes local courtesy drop-offs from River Heads to select locations).
~Please note: On day four, guests to depart the resort by the final barge at 5.00pm. On departure, if you would like your bags collected by our porter service, please arrange this on day three of your stay.

- Trip Notes: Pack luggage for a three-night stay on K’gari (Fraser Island). Pack a day bag to access during touring days with swimmers, a towel, a hat, sunscreen, insect repellent, comfortable walking shoes or thongs, sunglasses, essential medication and don’t forget your camera. Water is provided, but a reusable water bottle is always handy and great for the environment.
- Room configuration: Adults - Single room is for a maximum of one traveller per booking with one queen bed - Twin/Double room is for a maximum of two travellers per booking with one queen bed and one king single bed - Triple room is for a maximum of three travellers per booking with one queen and one king single bed. Children (4-14) - Twin room is for a maximum of one child per booking and must travel with an adult. Triple room is for a maximum of two children per booking and must travel with an adult.
