It's known as the European capital of Art Nouveau, the decorative style of art and architecture that flourished between 1890 and 1910, and you can admire around 800 buildings throughout the city. Or visit Rundale Palace, one of Latvia’s most exquisite monuments of Baroque and Rococo art.
For delicious local delicacies, visit Riga Central Market, one of the largest and oldest in Europe. There are also excellent restaurants, trendy bars and sunny beer gardens tucked into former industrial estates.
