Days 1: Fly to Bangkok
Fly to Bangkok, Thailand's vibrant capital. On arrival at the airport, you will be met by an English-speaking guide and transferred to the hotel. Depending on your time of arrival the rest of the day is yours to start soaking up the local culture.
Day 2: Bridge over the River Kwai
Take a day trip to The River Kwai where, in a beautiful forest setting, you can discover more about the area's WWII legacy. See the notorious Bridge on the River Kwai and wander the Allied War Cemetery and Hellfire Pass. Return to Bangkok for dinner in a picturesque riverside restaurant.
Day 3: Board the Azamara
After breakfast you will be met by an English-speaking guide and transferred to Bangkok's cruise terminal, Klong Toey, to board your cruise. The rest of the day is free to explore the ship's facilities and settle in. Throughout your cruise, when your ship comes into port, there will be a range of excursions available to help you explore each destination. These excursions are at your own expense and are bookable on your cruise reservation.
Days 4-5: Cruise - At Sea
Relax and enjoy everything that your Azamara cruise ship has to offer, as you cruise across the Gulf of Thailand, round the Malay Peninsula and up the Malacca Strait.
Day 6: Cruise - Explore Kuala Lumpur
Arrive in Kuala Lumpur, capital of Malaysia. Home to soaring skyscrapers, a wealth of history and a vibrant mix of cultures, this city is a feast for the senses.
Day 7: Cruise - Explore Penang
Arrive in Penang. Once one of Asia's most important ports, linking local markets with those in the West, Penang today is an exotic mix of cultures and heritage. Centred around the cosmopolitan city of George Town, which is a delight to explore, there are also pristine beaches and exceptional food to discover.
Day 8: Cruise - Explore Phuket
Arrive in Thailand, at Phuket's port. An island of white sand beaches and azure waters, it is a haven for water sport enthusiasts with plenty to keep anyone entertained.
Days 9-10: Cruise - At Sea
Relax and enjoy everything that your Azamara cruise ship has to offer, as you cross the Bay of Bengal.
Day 11: Cruise - Explore Chennai
Arrive in Chennai, the bustling capital city of the culture rich state of Tamil Nadu, where grand colonial architecture sits side by side with towering, colourful temples.
Days 12-13: Cruise - At Sea
Relax and enjoy everything that your Azamara cruise ship has to offer, as you cruise down and around Sri Lanka.
Day 14: Cruise - Explore Colombo
Colombia is the hub of Sri Lanka's rich culture and heritage, and gives easy access to gorgeous beaches, tropical forests and beautiful gardens. There is also the option of visiting an elephant orphanage.
Day 15: Cruise - Colombo
Spend today ported in Colombo before setting off to sea once more.
Day 16: Cruise - Explore Kochi
Kerela's Kochi is a melting pot of cultures and communities, all living harmoniously in a verdant waterfront setting.
Days 17-18: Cruise - At Sea
Relax and enjoy everything that your Azamara cruise ship has to offer.
Day 19: Arrive Mumbai
Disembark the Azamara Onward at Mumbai's cruise port, where you will be met by an English-speaking guide and transferred to your hotel.
Day 20: Mumbai - Jaipur
Check out of your hotel and spend the morning exploring Mumbai, seeing sights like the Gateway to India, the colonial architecture of Mumbai University, the High Court, and Victoria Terminus and the Dhobi Ghat, an open laundry. Transfer to the airport to fly to Jaipur.
Day 21: Jaipur
The day begins with a photo stop at the Hawa Mahal, then a visit to the extraordinary Amber Fort. Explore the lavish Maharaja's City Palace and the fascinating instruments of Jantar Mantar. Heading deep into the backstreets of the old town, try your hand at traditional artistries at a block printing and carpet weaving workshop.
Day 22: Ranthambore National Park
Travel to Ranthambore National Park, a former royal hunting ground that now provides a sanctuary for majestic Bengal tigers.
Day 23: Ranthambore National Park
Explore Ranthambore National Park in search of tigers, taking early morning and afternoon safaris. There are around 70 tigers living amongst the park's undulating landscapes, as well as leopards, nilgai, sloth bears, wild boar, hyena and over 300 species of bird.
Day 24: Agra
Journey to Agra by road, arriving in time for lunch. Next, tour the magnificent Agra Fort. This mass of red sandstone sits on the banks of the Yamuna River; from its ramparts you may catch a first glimpse of the magical Taj Mahal, just two kilometres downstream.
Day 25: Taj Mahal
Rise early to share an unforgettable experience, sunrise at the Taj Mahal. At dawn, when the crowds are at their thinnest, watch this magical building tinge pink as it emerges from the early morning mists. Return to your hotel for breakfast, then enjoy a visit to a marble inlay workshop. After lunch, travel to Delhi by road.
Day 26: Delhi
Explore India's capital, beginning in Old Delhi with a stroll through Chandni Chowk, savoring the ambience of this bustling bazaar. Continue to India's largest mosque, Jama Masjid, for a brief photo stop and pass President's Palace and India Gate. Then visit Humayun's Tomb, the 12th-century Qutab Minar and bustling Connaught Market, where you'll sample delicious local street foods.
Day 27-28: Fly Delhi to Australia
Fly to Australia, arriving home the following day.
