Setting sail from the capital of the Catalonia region, Barcelona, you'll stopover at coastal cities in the Western Mediterranean such as Castellón de la Plana, Alicante and Cartagena. Marvel at the Cathedral of Santa Maria in Spain’s Palma de Mallorca; admire unique and diverse landscapes from the desert to the sea in Almeria; or join the throng of locals at a bustling market fragrant with spices in Tangier. Our journey concludes in Malaga, renowned for excellent beaches, expressive culture and fine cuisine.

Day 1 - Barcelona, Spain

Your deluxe cruise begins in Barcelona, where you’ll be transferred to your Emerald Cruises luxury yacht to begin your journey of the Spanish coastline.

Please book your flight to arrive into Barcelona prior to 01:00 PM.

Day 2 - Castellón de la Plana, Spain

Castellón de la Plana is an eclectic city melding natural beauty with rich culture. It has beautiful beaches and inviting green spaces such as Columbretes Islands Natural Park, popular for hiking. The city is also home to Jaume I University, one of the most important universities in Spain, elevating Castellón de la Plana's already dynamic culture with a youthful energy.

We’ll begin cycling along the beautiful coastlines of Playa del Pinar and Gurugú, using a bike path by the shore. Next, we'll visit Benicassim's beaches to explore the historic San Vicente Tower and the villas from the Belle Epoque era, when notable families chose the area as their seaside resort, dubbing it the "Valencian Biarritz." If time allows, we may venture towards the Sea Greenway, a peaceful route connecting Oropesa del Mar and Benicassim.

Guided by an expert, explore the Carthusian Monastery, a historic site where composer Chopin and writer George Sand stayed in 1838. Day 4 - Alicante, Spain

Alicante has a lovely Mediterranean climate, with hot summers and mild winters, making it a popular holiday destination year-round. It’s known for beautiful beaches such as Playa de San Juan and Postiguet Beach, which entice travellers from around the world. In the heart of Alicante stands the Castle of Santa Barbara, dating back to the 9th century. Today choose between our Included Excursion or EmeraldACTIVE option.

Elche, a city south of Alicante, is renowned for its lush palm groves, particularly the Huerto del Cura, a stunning municipal garden. Following a scenic coach ride, a guided tour showcases Elche’s key landmarks before exploring Huerto del Cura, where visitors can enjoy the shade and diverse tropical and Mediterranean plants. Notably, the garden features the seven-fronded "Imperial Palm," named after Empress Elisabeth of Austria, affectionately known as Sisi. The tour concludes with a return drive to Alicante.

Explore Alicante on a captivating tour that blends history with leisure. After some free time, take a coach to the 9th-century Castle of Santa Bárbara, perched atop Mount Benacantil. The castle offers breathtaking views of the city and harbor. The tour concludes with a walk back to the port.

Day 5 - Cartagena, Spain

Just a few kilometres from Cartagena, this charming ranch showcases magnificent pure Spanish-bred horses with elegant bloodlines. For over 40 years, the Conesa family has operated this ranch, where visitors can observe broodmares and foals, and witness Spanish horse training and stallion management. The experience includes snacks while watching a coordinated training by an Andalusian dancer and a stallion. The Rock of Gibraltar, a 1400-foot landmark, is tied to the legend of Hercules and features a British flair with its policemen and pubs. Our tour begins at the British/Spanish Frontier, leading us to Europa Point for panoramic views and photo opportunities of the Mediterranean and Atlantic convergence. We explore St. Michael’s Cave's stunning formations set to classical music, spot the playful Rock Apes at King Charles “V” Wall, and pass the historic Moorish Castle before concluding the tour in the upper town area.
