Day 1 - Arrive Munich

Be met at the airport and transfer to your hotel in Munich. Later this evening you’ll have the chance to get to know your fellow travellers and Tour Director at a Welcome Reception.

Day 2 - Munich

Enjoy a guided discovery of the Bavarian capital of Munich, regarded by many as Germany’s most beautiful city. See the famous Glockenspiel on the Town Hall and explore the historic city centre, home to the iconic Frauenkirche. With the afternoon at leisure you may wish to visit Munich's Christmas market. Located at Marienplatz, the market is said date back to the 14th century. This evening, you will be treated to a special dinner.

Day 3 - Munich

Enjoy a full day at leisure in Munich today. Perhaps choose to join an optional tour to Neuschwanstein Castle.

Nestled in the Bavarian Alps and renowned for its stunning and romantic architecture, this fairy-tale like castle was the inspiration for Walt Disney’s Sleeping Beauty Castle. Surrounded by mountains, forests and lakes, its interior is equally impressive with colourful murals and grand opulence.

Day 4 - Munich, Nuremberg, Embark Ship

Travel to Nuremberg and embark your ship. This evening, meet your Cruise Director and fellow passengers at a Welcome Reception.

Day 5 - Nuremberg

Explore Nuremberg, the site of Hitler’s infamous rallies. Wander the cobblestone streets, discovering hidden boutiques and artisan stores. After your city tour, visit the festive Nuremberg Christmas Market. Finish your day cruising through the Main-Danube Canal, crossing Europe’s Continental Divide thanks to the canal’s 16 stair-step locks.

Day 6 - Regensburg

Dock in Regensburg this morning. Here, wander along its cobblestone lanes, taking a journey through the ages as you explore the historic streets, medieval buildings and cultural sites on your guided walking tour. Later, explore the three unique Christmas Markets of Regensburg.

Tonight, enjoy an authentic Bavarian experience on board as you sample local beer and snacks, accompanied by traditional folk music, song and dance. 

Day 7 - Passau, Linz

Today, you can choose to join an optional tour to  Český  Krumlov in the Czech Republic, or visit Salzburg. Alternatively, enjoy a relaxing sailing day to Linz.

Enjoy a fascinating day excursion to the city of Český Krumlov in the Czech Republic, home to more than 300 historical buildings.

Enhance your Journey – Salzburg Sights

Take a trip through the stunning scenery of Austria. Visit Mondsee, where you may recognise the famous Wedding Church from ‘The Sound of Music’. Continue to Salzburg and be guided through the town Mozart called home. Enjoy some free time to explore explore at your leisure before returning to your ship.

Day 8 - Melk, Dürnstein

Dock in Melk and join a local guide for a tour of Melk Abbey, an active Benedictine monastery since 1089 and a UNESCO World Heritage site. This magnificent abbey is home to around two dozen practising monks. Later, cruise through the Wachau Valley to Dürnstein, where the hilltop ruins of the castle once held King Richard the Lionheart captive in 1192.

Day 9 - Vienna

Embrace the splendour and elegance of Vienna today on a walking tour that takes you past St Stephen’s Cathedral, the Graben, Hofburg Palace and the Albertina, then visit one of the many Christmas Markets on offer in Vienna. This evening, celebrate your river cruise with a Captain’s Farewell Dinner.

Day 10 - Budapest

Awake to views of one of the Danube’s most enchanting cities this morning. Disembark and learn the vibrant history of Budapest as your local guide takes you to a host of impressive sights. Afterwards, get into the festive spirit with a visit to one of the city’s charming Christmas markets. You may wish to join an optional tour to discover the Hospital in the Rock Bunker Museum.

Tour this museum, once a World War II hospital, located in the caves beneath Buda Castle. This first-aid shelter was constructed in 1941 to withstand the blasts of bombing.

Day 11 - Budapest, Disembark Ship, Prague

After breakfast, board a coach and pass through the rural landscapes of Slovakia before crossing the border into the Czech Republic. Accented by verdant hills covered in vineyards, the southern countryside of the Czech Republic is a wine-lovers dream. With a three-night stay in Prague, you will have plenty of time to soak in the magic of this beautiful capital – a city of stone bridges, Gothic cathedrals and golden towers, overseen by a grand castle.

Day 12 - Prague

Your exploration of Prague begins with a tour of the World Heritage-listed Old Town. Begin at Strahov Monastery, where you can take in panoramic views of Prague. You’ll then wander across Charles Bridge and arrive in Prague’s Old Market Square. Have your camera ready at the Astronomical Clock, a masterpiece in the Old Town Square that visualises time in a truly unique form. Stop for some time to explore if you wish and continue to discover the incredible city of Prague on your own terms, with its multitude of sights.  Perhaps join an optional tour this evening to a lively traditional Czech folklore dinner and show.

Day 13 - Prague

Having become familiar with the layout of Prague, enjoy today at leisure to explore as you please. The Jewish Quarter is a pulsing hub of Semitic history, so perhaps you’d like to head there and learn all about the birthplace of writer Franz Kafka. Alternatively, you may wish to join an optional tour to Prague Castle.

Enhance Your Journey - Prague Castle

Travel across the Vltava River to Prague Castle, which dominates the city skyline. Believed to date back to the 9th century, this castle complex – with its network of palaces and churches – is considered the largest in the world. Join a local guide for a tour through the complex, including St. Vitus Cathedral and the Golden Lane.

Day 14 - Depart Prague

Your adventure comes to an end today with a transfer to the airport for your onward flight.
