Today, we will sail through the fascinating UNESCO World Heritage-listed Wachau Valley.
This morning, you can embark on a guided bike tour from Melk to Dürnstein, cycling past terraced vineyards, castles, and charming villages along the way. Once in Dürnstein, you’ll have the opportunity to hike to the ruins of Dürnstein Castle, where delightful panoramic views of the surrounding medieval landscape await.
This afternoon, enjoy a guided tour of Göttweig Abbey, a true treasure overlooking the Wachau Valley from its hilltop perch surrounded by vineyards and forests. Part of the UNESCO World Heritage-listed landscape since 2001, it is one of Austria's most significant Benedictine abbeys. Built in 1083, it continues to serve as a spiritual centre and is home to a community of about 45 monks. Visible from a great distance, the abbey offers epic panoramic views of the Wachau Valley during your visit.
