This afternoon, you’ll board Scenic Eclipse, where the Captain and crew will greet you personally with a warm welcome and a glass of Champagne. With 18 glorious days ahead of you, take some time to settle in; test out the Scenic Slumber Bed and pick the perfect pillow from the plush pillow menu. Make your way up to the Sky Bar on Deck 10 for a sail away cocktail toasting to your onward voyage overlooking the glittering lights of Rio de Janeiro.

After a restorative night of rest in your luxury suite, today is yours to spend exactly as you wish. You might ask the butler for breakfast in bed or, if the day is particularly glorious, spend a quiet morning on your sumptuous verandah to soak in the sun. With many days at sea to come, you can enjoy your ultra-luxury Discovery Yacht and stunning surroundings at your own pace. 

This afternoon, begin your discovery of the indulgent spaces on board Scenic Eclipse, like the temperature-controlled Vitality Pool or the Observation Lounge, with its commanding view from the bow.

Fresh-squeezed juice delivered to your door and a steaming mug of gourmet coffee or tea start your day just the way you like it. If you’re up early, nestle yourself into the hanging chairs on Deck 07 to see the morning come to life, then visit the fitness centre for a Pilates class, some guided stretching or aerial yoga.  

As Scenic Eclipse continues her sail on the open ocean, enjoy an al fresco lunch today at the Yacht Club for delightfully created courses and a chance to meet your fellow voyagers.

Founded by the Portuguese in 1549, Salvador is one of the oldest colonial cities in the Americas and was the first capital of Brazil. The streets are lined with colourful buildings, music plays at all hours of the day and people dance through the streets to the sound of beating drums moving to the rhythms of the setting sun.

Around 80% of Salvador’s population is of African descent and you’ll feel this unique blend of Afro-Brazilian culture all around you, from the music, food and dance to the brilliantly costumed women wearing the traditional Baiana de Acarajé dress. 

After the excitement of the excursion yesterday, some relaxation may be just what you crave. Join your new friends for a day of getting to know one another at the Azure Bar & Café. Graze all day if you wish, as all-inclusive premium beverages and dining ensure you’ll find something that suits your taste perfectly.  

Check the daily program and see what activities are happening around the ship, from movies and lectures to fun trivia. This evening, enjoy a nightcap in the whisky bar before sinking into the comfort of your Scenic Slumber Bed.

Today, the sanctuary of the Senses Spa is calling. Book an appointment# with our skillful wellness therapists and surrender yourself to bliss. Afterwards, hold on to that feeling of calm for a while longer in the Zen-like space of the Vitality Lounge. Here, ambient light envelops you with tranquil music as the heat from our soothing thermal loungers works to gently purify the body.  

When you’re ready, perhaps enjoy dinner at Koko’s. The Asian fusion restaurant and saké bar is the perfect ending to another delightful day at sea.

Sometimes, you need a day with nothing on the schedule. On board Scenic Eclipse, there are endless ways to practice the art of total relaxation. Watch a movie from the comfort of your signature Scenic Slumber Bed, fitted with exquisitely soft Egyptian cotton sheets.  

When you’re ready to venture out, relish one of many intimate places throughout the ship. Try the private cabanas on Deck 10 or the comfy chairs in the Observation Lounge on Deck 5, where you’ll be enchanted by the endless horizons of the ocean from the panoramic glass windows. 

Check your Daily Wonder and join one of the many talks, demonstrations or workshops hosted by Scenic’s experts on board. For a culinary masterclass, Scenic Épicure on Deck 5 will leave you an expert. Alternatively, be enthralled by the Head Sommelier on a wine tasting experience, taking guests through a curated journey of the ship’s wine collection. (Note that numbers are limited for all classes held in Scenic Épicure and require a booking once on board.)  

Other specialty classes may occur throughout the day, like movement and mobility lectures from the wellness coaches, or a guided whisky tasting to appeal to all interests.

What better way to soak up the enormity of the Atlantic Ocean passing by than with a drink in hand Settle in at the spacious Scenic Lounge Bar to enjoy your beverage of choice, whether it be aged whisky or a glass of wine. With Scenic’s signature all-inclusive ultra-luxury philosophy, indulge in top shelf spirits, over 100 whiskies, a premium wine list and French champagne.

Alternatively, the sun loungers and cabanas near the Sky Bar are the ideal place to relax with a cocktail. Or enjoy a specialty tea or coffee in the Observation Lounge while reading a book, playing a board game and watching the world float by through Swarovski telescopes.

The state-of-the-art theatre on Deck 4 is the hub for on board entertainment. The advanced cinemascope technology and multiple viewing screens create an immersive 270-degree experience, complete with a sparkly night sky ceiling. You’ll be sitting in supremely comfortable reclining lounge chairs and a full range of drinks is available from the attentive waiters.

During the day, the theatre hosts talks and lectures from the Discovery Team, as well as movies and documentaries. At night, it transforms into a glittering entertainment venue showcasing world-class productions from musical theatre and cabaret to pop music, dance and fun interactive game shows.

After six days crossing the Atlantic, Scenic Eclipse makes landfall at Cape Verde. Over the next two days, explore these islands off the West African coastline, from the capital of Santiago to the outer atoll of São Vicente. The islands were uninhabited prior to Portuguese colonisation in the 15th century but soon became an integral part of the African slave trade. 

Today, the islands are known for pottery, hand dyed textiles, paintings, instruments and sculptures, highlighting their unique cultural blend. Make your way to Alexandre Albuquerque Square for a local seafood lunch while surrounded by intriguing colonial architecture and lush greenery.

Today the island of Santo Antão awaits. The westernmost island of Cape Verde rises from the sea with immense volcanic walls that tower over green peaks and perfectly farmed terraced valleys. With a desert climate on the south side and high mountains at its centre, the scenery will leave you spellbound. Largely untouched by tourism, the island will be yours almost exclusively.

Explore the island’s most populous city, Porto Novo, which began life as a tiny fishing port just over a century ago. You’ll have time to try the famous Cape Verde rum, or ‘grogue’ as it’s called. Made from sugarcane, it’s the national drink.

Take a moment to yourself this morning as Scenic Eclipse sails out back into the vast grand ocean and soak in the comforts of your luxuriously appointed suite. Ask the butler to bring breakfast, then enjoy it on the verandah as the deep blue waters of the Atlantic Ocean slip by outside.  

It could be time for another visit to the Senses Spa. Inside this luxurious retreat you can be pampered with a range of holistic ESPA treatments#, or try one of the alternative therapies on offer, like Japanese shiatsu or Indian Ayurvedic massage.

Tonight could be the night you visit Night Market @ Koko’s, private dining for eight guests with authentic Teppanyaki style. Stay up late in the bar or retire to the library for a bit of blissful solitude before bed.

Enjoy an unhurried day today for a soul-soothing escape alongside the iridescent water and idyllic villages. Tenerife is known for its natural beauty, unspoilt and pristine. Beaches tucked into the feet of towering cliffs beckon swimmers, and the sand colours range from gilded gold to blushing pink to ebony black.

After days of enriching discoveries, this morning it’s time to reflect on your journey. Ask the butler to bring your morning coffee, then gather your new friends for a gym session in the state-of-the art POWER: gym. Sit down for a sumptuous lunch together, where you can share photos and travel experiences as you recall your favourite memories from these awe-inspiring weeks on the sea traversing continents.

Later tonight, raise a glass to an unforgettable voyage at one of the up to eight bars and lounges across the ship. 

This is your final day on board Scenic Eclipse, so take the time to return to your favourite spots. That might mean a dip in the Vitality Pool followed by some time in one of the shaded oceanfront cabanas. Enjoy one last session in the heated therapy lounge or stretch out your sea legs in a Pilates class. 

Return to your favourite restaurant with your new friends or indulge in a private dinner in your verandah. Enjoy a nightcap in one of the up bars and lounges and arrange for the butler to bring you coffee in your suite the next morning.

Your journey ends in the city of Málaga on Spain’s spectacular Costa del Sol. This glamorous resort town is also one of the oldest cities in the world, dating back some 3,000 years. Málaga is the birthplace of Pablo Picasso and the streets filled with architectural delights from colourful baroque designs to a historic Roman theatre. 

After one final delicious breakfast on board Scenic Eclipse, it’s time to disembark your ultra-luxury home-at-sea, taking with you a lifetime of memories of this truly unique journey across the globe.
