Day 1 - Auckland

Welcome to Auckland, New Zealand’s largest city. Home to around a third of the population, Auckland is a stylish, cosmopolitan centre set around two grand harbours. It’s packed with fascinating museums, world-class art galleries and stylish shops featuring local designers.

Your ultra-luxury Discovery Yacht Scenic Eclipse II is waiting for you in Auckland Harbour. As you step on board, you’ll be greeted with a glass of Champagne, setting the tone for your unforgettable journey. Meet the Captain, crew, and your Discovery Team before we set sail into the azure waters of the South Pacific.

Please book your flight to arrive into Auckland prior to 02:00 PM.

Day 2 - Bay of Islands

The Bay of Islands is one of the world’s most spectacular sailing destinations, so make sure you’re on your verandah or the Observation Terrace as you arrive early this morning. With its unique sub-tropical climate, around 150 islands and thousands of postcard-perfect coves, this is a little slice of paradise on the North Island.

Scenic Eclipse II will anchor off the coast of Paihia, the first seaport in New Zealand, dating back to the early 1800s. Today it’s famous for watersports, offering kayaking, fishing, parasailing, scuba diving, sailing and more. Nearby is the Waitangi Treaty Grounds, where the foundation document of New Zealand was signed in 1840.

Day 3 - At Sea

After a restorative night of rest in your ultra-luxury suite, take some time to explore the ship and familiarise yourself with all the areas on board. Visit the Sky Bar and outdoor Vitality pool on Deck 10.

Step into the tranquil Senses Spa# on Deck 6 with its steam rooms, saunas, plunge pool and KLAFS Salt Therapy Lounge. Take in the view through the Swarovski telescopes on the Observation Terrace, then stop for a coffee or a cocktail at one of the truly all-inclusive bars and lounges on board.

Day 4 - Norfolk Island

Roughly halfway between New Zealand and Australia, this tiny island is an outlying self-governing Australian territory with a tumultuous past. Claimed by Captain James Cook for the British in 1774, it was settled as a convict colony in 1788 and became known as Hell in the Pacific. In 1855, Queen Victoria gave the island to the descendants of the Bounty mutineers, who had outgrown their home on Pitcairn Island.

Today, Norfolk remains a wild place, with dramatic landscapes, towering pines and pounding surf. Perfect for relaxation and exploration, you'll discover a charming small town with rich history. Explore World Heritage-listed ruins and the gorgeous St Barnabas Chapel.

Day 5 - At Sea

Today, enjoy some relaxation at sea. Join your new friends over a meal at the Azure Bar & Café with beautiful indoor and outdoor seating. Scenic Eclipse II’s all-inclusive premium beverages ensure you’ll find something that pairs perfectly with your food.

Tonight's entertainment at the state-of-the-art theatre will give you another opportunity to appreciate the magical moments on board your Discovery Yacht before you retreat to your supremely comfortable Scenic Slumber Bed. Alternatively, choose to dine in the comfort of your suite and have your evening nightcap brought by the butler, choosing from a range of premium wines, beers and spirits.

Day 6 - Tadine, Maré Island

The highest island in the New Caledonian archipelago, Maré lures guests with its unmatched scenery. The wildest of the Loyalty Islands, it is a place of dramatic cliffs, dense forests and impressive rocky headlands.

In between, the coast is ringed with white sand beaches fringed with coconut palms and turquoise waters. There is excellent snorkelling straight off the beach, with pristine corals and brilliantly coloured fish. For adventures onshore, there are glorious clifftop hikes offering spectacular views.

Day 7 - Tanna Island, Vanuatu

Look out for smoke in the air as you approach Tanna this morning. Mount Yasur is regarded as the world’s most accessible active volcano, regularly shooting sparks into the sky. Captain James Cook first observed ash eruptions in 1774, and the mountain is considered a sacred area by members of the island’s John Frum Cargo Cult, who believe their deity resides inside.

Be welcomed ashore by the community as you listen to the women’s choir and watch local performances. Visit Mount Yasur, walk up a trail up to the rim and peer into the fiery depths of the volcano’s crater.

Day 8 - At Sea

After a couple of days of exploration, the day is yours to spend exactly as you wish. Perhaps ask the butler for breakfast in bed, or enjoy a quiet morning spent on your sumptuous verandah to soak in the tropical sun. Stretch out in a gentle yoga or Pilates class or cool off in the Vitality pool.

This afternoon, try the private cabanas on Deck 10 or the comfy chairs in the Observation Lounge in Deck 5, where you’ll be enchanted by the endless horizons of the ocean from the panoramic glass windows.

Day 9 - Port Denarau, Viti Levu Island, Fij

Discover the vibrant Port Denarau on Fiji’s main island, Viti Levu. This is the gateway to Fiji's most stylish resorts and the stunning Mamanuca and Yasawa Islands. With its lively marina, upscale shopping and array of dining options, Port Denarau offers a perfect blend of relaxation and adventure. Explore nearby attractions like the Denarau Golf and Racquet Club or set off into the sparkling ocean for snorkelling, diving and water sports.

Scenic Eclipse II will be staying overnight at Port Denarau, so head to the Sky Bar this evening for a sunset cocktail as you look out over this tropical paradise.

Day 10 - Yanuya Island, Fiji

This tiny island in the Mamanucas will give you a taste of authentic Fijian life. Home to around 500 people, it welcomes guests with its serene beauty and warm hospitality. Explore pristine white sand beaches and crystal-clear turquoise waters perfect for swimming and snorkelling.

Meet with the friendly locals and experience Fijian traditions, such as a kava ceremony. Embark on guided nature walks to discover lush tropical forests and native wildlife.

Day 11 - Lautoka, Fiji

Fiji’s second largest city, Lautoka, is nestled in the heart of sugar-cane country. This sweet spot is home to a world of blissful beaches, turquoise seascapes, dense jungle and the always-smiling Fijian locals.

Day 12 - Savusavu

Immerse yourself in the natural beauty of Savusavu, set on the southern coast of the island of Vanua Levu. The nation’s second largest island is largely off the radar of mass tourism and is renowned for its lush jungle, pristine waters and strong traditional culture. The snorkelling and diving here are some of the best in Fiji, with the exceptional Namena Marine Reserve just offshore from Savusavu.

Relax on one of the secluded beaches fringed by swaying palm trees, go in search of dolphins in Natewa Bay, explore the mangroves of the Salt Lake by kayak or stand-up paddleboard, and pick up unique souvenirs crafted by local artisans.

Day 13 - Reid Reef, Lau Group

Scenic Eclipse II will likely be the only cruise ship in this remote paradise. The Lau Group is made up of 57 islands scattered across the west of Fiji, famous for its untouched beauty and vibrant marine life.

Snorkel among colourful coral gardens teeming with tropical fish, paddle on the calm waters in a kayak or stand-up paddleboard. Alternatively, simply relax on a secluded sandy beach. Whatever you decide to do, you’ll feel the tranquillity of this hidden sanctuary, surrounded by breathtaking vistas and serene seascapes.

Day 14 - Neiafu, Vava’u, Tonga > Cross International Date Line > Alofi, Niue

Tonga is made up of more than 170 islands divided into three groups – the Vava’u archipelago is the most northerly, consisting of around 40 coral islands. It’s a captivating combination of lush vegetation, sandy beaches, abundant marine life and underwater caves, making it one of Tonga’s most popular tourist destinations.

The flat-topped Mount Talau towers over the main island, offering spectacular panoramic views. Experience local traditions, like weaving mats from the leaves of the pandanus tree, producing noni juice and the extraction of vanilla essence.

Cross International Dateline

Today you will become a time traveller - Scenic Eclipse II will cross the International Date Line, an imaginary line of demarcation that runs from the North to the South Pole, located roughly along the 180th meridian in the Pacific Ocean. As we are crossing from west to east, you will repeat the day once more.

Enjoy a celebration of the crossing with the Captain and crew as a nod to ancient maritime traditions and a light-hearted appreciation of the marvels of time and travel.

Step ashore today in one of the smallest countries in the world. The tiny island nation of Niue is home to less than 2,000 people and is a slice of the South Pacific as it used to be. The island was first settled by Polynesian sailors from Samoa in the 10th century. Captain Cook sighted the island in 1774 but was refused permission to land, though many missionaries made it ashore in the following centuries – look out for the many churches.

Niue is ideal for hiking, with dramatic coastal paths leading along steep cliffs and into hidden caves. Swim or snorkel at secluded beaches where you won’t see another traveller all day.

Day 15 - At Sea

After a couple of days of exploration, today enjoy some relaxation at sea. Join your new friends over a meal at the Azure Bar & Café with beautiful indoor and outdoor seating. Graze the day away and enjoy Scenic Eclipse II’s all-inclusive premium beverages to ensure you’ll find something that suits your taste perfectly.

Tonight's entertainment at the state-of-the-art theatre will give you another opportunity to appreciate the magical moments on board Scenic Eclipse II before you retreat to your ultra-luxury suite. Alternatively, choose to dine in the comfort of your suite and have your evening nightcap brought by the butler.

Day 16 - Palmerston Island, Cook Islands

Just six tiny islands are dotted across the 11 kilometre-wide lagoon of Palmerston, one of the most isolated communities in the South Pacific. Surrounded by a continuous ring of coral reefs, marine life is abundant. Don’t miss a dip in Duke’s Pool, named in honour of the late Prince Philip, who swam there in the 1970s during a rare royal visit.

With a population of only around 50, most of the friendly residents are the descendants of one British man, William Marsters, and his three wives. Marsters was a ship’s carpenter who arrived here in 1863 and quickly established his own personal paradise.

Day 17 - Aitutaki Atoll, Cook Islands

Aitutaki is another contender for the most beautiful lagoon on the planet. Covering over 50 square kilometres, it’s sprinkled with over a dozen islands and islets, most of which are uninhabited. None stands more than 124 metres high, so there’s nothing to interrupt the postcard-perfect views.

Go snorkelling, relax on the beach or just settle into the simple life on this peaceful island port. Aitutaki specialises in the sale of black pearls, colourful sarongs, patchwork quilting and other handicrafts, which can be found at the bustling market near the wharf.

Day 18 - At sea

Freshly squeezed juice, steaming barista-made coffee or tea delivered to your door by the butler will help you start your day. Nestle into one of the cabanas on Deck 10 to welcome the dawn before visiting the gym or the studio for a Pilates class, some guided stretching or aerial yoga.

Enjoy an al fresco lunch today at the Yacht Club for delightfully curated courses and a chance to meet your fellow voyagers. Spend the afternoon at leisure in your luxurious suite or in the temperature-controlled Vitality Pool before choosing one of up to 10 dining experiences for the evening.

It’s fringed with luxurious overwater resorts and the occasional yacht bobbing at anchor. With swathes of lush green vegetation, the island is dominated by the magnificent outline of Mount Otemanu.

Day 20 - Huahine, Society Islands

Covered in a vast tropical jungle, Huahine is known as The Garden of Eden. With its untouched beauty and warm hospitality, Huahine offers a glimpse of paradise. The lush landscapes are dotted with coconut plantations, vanilla orchids, banana groves, breadfruit trees and watermelon fields, and sacred temples are hidden amongst the greenery.

Encounter the vibrant marine life beneath the surface or simply unwind on palm-fringed beaches. Relax, explore, and create unforgettable memories in this idyllic island haven steeped in history and natural wonders.

Day 21 - Papeete, Society Islands

Welcome to the island of Tahiti. As the capital of French Polynesia, Papeete blends a city buzz with a relaxed lifestyle and a melting pot of cultures. Wander through vibrant markets filled with tropical fruits and local crafts, or stroll along the waterfront promenade lined with palm trees.
