Welcome to Salt Lake City! Your Tour Director is on hand from 3:00 p.m. -6:00 p.m. to answer any questions.
Day 2 - SALT LAKE CITY-JACKSON
Start the day with a sightseeing tour of Salt Lake City, Utah’s capital, where you’ll see highlights including Temple Square, the Utah State Capitol Building, and the city’s vibrant downtown. Travel north through scenic mountain landscapes to the classic Western town of Jackson, the gateway to Grand Teton National Park. This evening, take a stroll into town and enjoy its wooden sidewalks and streets lined with shops, galleries, and restaurants. (B)
Day 3 - JACKSON-GRAND TETON NATIONAL PARK-YELLOWSTONE NATIONAL PARK-WEST YELLOWSTONE
Travel into Grand Teton National Park, where rugged peaks rise above pristine lakes and valleys that are home to moose, elk, deer, and black bears. Visit beautiful Jenny Lake, nestled at the foot of Cascade Canyon, renowned for its crystal-clear waters and spectacular mountain views.Continue north into Yellowstone National Park, home to the world’s largest concentration of geysers and geothermal features. Watch legendary Old Faithfulgeyser erupt, sending steaming water as high as 184 feet in the air in one of nature’s most remarkable displays! Later, arrive in West Yellowstone for a relaxing two-night stay. (CB)
Day 4 - WEST YELLOWSTONE. DAY EXCURSION TO YELLOWSTONE NATIONAL PARK
Spend the day discovering all the wonders of Yellowstone National Park, the world’s first national park, established in 1872. Walk the Fountain Paint Pot Trail to experience bubbling mud pots, steaming fumaroles, colorful hot springs, and erupting geysers that showcase the park’s volcanic landscape. Continue to Mammoth Hot Springs, where mineral-rich thermal waters have created striking terraces of white limestone over thousands of years.Later, visit the Grand Canyon of Yellowstone for panoramic views of the dramatic canyon and the powerful Lower Yellowstone Falls, the tallest waterfall in the park. Throughout the day, keep an eye out for abundant local wildlife, including bison, moose, elk, deer, bighorn sheep, wolf, fox, coyote, and grizzly bears! (CB)
Day 5 - WEST YELLOWSTONE-VIRGINIA CITY-HELENA
Leave West Yellowstone and visit the Earthquake Lake Visitor Center to discover the dramatic story of the 1959 Hebgen Lake earthquake, when a magnitude 7.5 quake triggered a massive landslide that reshaped the landscape and created Earthquake Lake in less than a minute.Continue to Virginia City, one of the best-preserved Gold Rush towns in the American West. Stroll its historic streets and step back to the days when the discovery of placer gold made this frontier community one of the richest mining towns in the Rocky Mountains.Arrive in Helena and visit the impressive Montana State Capitol, historic Reeder’s Alley, and Last Chance Gulch, the downtown district and pedestrian walking mall built on the site where gold was discovered in 1864. Day 6 - HELENA-MISSOULA-KALISPELL
Head north through western Montana to Missoula and visit the Missoula Smokejumper Visitor Center, home to the nation’s largest smokejumper base. Learn how these highly trained wildland firefighters parachute into remote wilderness areas to combat forest fires. Continue to Kalispell, a welcoming mountain town near Glacier National Park. This evening, perhaps stroll into the historic downtown and enjoy dinner at a local restaurant.
Day 7 - KALISPELL. DAY TRIP TO GLACIER NATIONAL PARK
Spend the day at gorgeous Glacier National Park with a guided scenic ride aboard a vintage Red Jammer bus. Travel the legendary Going-to-the-Sun Road, one of North America’s most celebrated scenic drives, as you learn about the park’s glaciers, wildlife, and rugged mountain landscapes.Climb to Logan Pass at 6,664-feet, where alpine meadows, dramatic peaks, and sweeping mountain vistas showcase the beauty of the Continental Divide. Keep an eye out for mountain goats, bighorn sheep, and other wildlife that call Glacier National Park home. (B)
Day 8 - KALISPELL-WATERTON LAKES NATIONAL PARK
Cross the border into Canada and enter Waterton Lakes National Park, where Alberta’s rolling prairies meet the soaring peaks of the Canadian Rockies. This remarkable landscape is known for its crystal-clear lakes, diverse wildlife, and dramatic mountain scenery.Spend the night in the heart of the park with free time to explore the charming village of Waterton Park. Stroll along the lakeshore, browse local shops, or simply relax and take in the spectacular views of the surrounding mountains. (B)
Day 9 - WATERTON LAKES NATIONAL PARK- HEAD-SMASHED-IN BUFFALO JUMP-CALGARY
Visit Head-Smashed-In Buffalo Jump, a UNESCO World Heritage Site preserving more than 6,000 years of Plains Indigenous history. Learn how Indigenous peoples used the landscape and their deep knowledge of bison behavior to sustain their communities across the plains. Continue to Calgary for a tour highlighting Stampede Park, the Saddledome, Fort Calgary, and Canada Olympic Park, built for the 1988 Winter Olympic Games.Enjoy the remainder of the day at leisure. Day 10 - CALGARY–BANFF NATIONAL PARK
Begin the day with a guided tour of Calgary, a vibrant city that grew from its ranching roots into one of Canada's leading urban centers following the discovery of oil. Along the way, discover the city's blend of Western heritage, modern architecture, and Olympic legacy.Then travel west through the rolling foothills into Banff National Park, Canada's first national park and the gateway to the Canadian Rockies. Enjoy an orientation tour of the town of Banff, where mountain peaks, alpine forests, and the Bow River create one of Canada's most celebrated mountain destinations.
Day 11 - BANFF NATIONAL PARK
Enjoy a full day at leisure in Banff National Park, one of Canada’s favorite year-round mountain resorts. Spend the day your way with opportunities for hiking, biking, shopping, and fishing, or simply relax in the serenity of the Canadian Rockies. Your Tour Director can recommend optional excursions, including a sky-high adventure on a helicopter over the Rocky Mountains or the Panoramas & Peaks* optional excursion to see breathtaking Moraine Lake in the famed Valley of the Ten Peaks.*This optional excursion begins operating in early June.
Day 12 - BANFF NATIONAL PARK–LAKE LOUISE–COLUMBIA ICEFIELD–JASPER NATIONAL PARK
Start with a visit to stunning Lake Louise, famous for its turquoise waters that create a natural mirror reflecting the surrounding mountains. Continue along the scenic Icefields Parkway to the Columbia Icefield, where you’ll ride the Ice Explorer onto the ancient Athabasca Glacier. This all-terrain vehicle travels across ice measuring up to 750 feet thick for an up-close look at one of the Rockies’ great natural features.Travel on to Jasper National Park, where deep gorges, snowcapped summits, and exquisite lakes of blues and greens come into view along the way. Upon arrival in Jasper, consider an optional float trip down the Athabasca River before an orientation tour of the townsite.
Day 13 - JASPER NATIONAL PARK
Enjoy a full day at leisure in Jasper National Park.Perhaps choose an optional excursion to Maligne Lake and iconic Spirit Island.* Cruise across the glacier-fed lake while learning about the region's history, geology, wildlife, and alpine ecosystems surrounded by spectacular mountain scenery.Or spend the day discovering Jasper your way. Join a guided hike, browse the town's local shops and cafés, or simply relax while keeping watch for the elk, deer, bighorn sheep, and other wildlife that are often seen throughout the park.*This optional excursion begins operating in late May/early June.
Day 14 - JASPER NATIONAL PARK–MOUNT ROBSON–KAMLOOPS
Depart Jasper National Park and follow the scenic Fraser River through the heart of British Columbia. Stop for views of Mount Robson, the highest peak in the Canadian Rockies, rising to 12,972-feet. Continue along the Yellowhead Highway, tracing the course of the powerful Thompson River. Along the way, enjoy sweeping views of the Monashee Mountains before arriving in Kamloops for an overnight stay.
Day 15 - KAMLOOPS–FERRY CROSSING–VICTORIA
Travel west through British Columbia’s diverse landscapes, where the rugged Cascade Mountains give way to the fertile Fraser Valley before reaching the majestic Pacific coastline. Watch the vegetation change from desert landscape to lush alpine forest along the way. Board a ferry across the Straight of Georgia to Vancouver Island. Before arriving in Victoria, visit the world-famous Butchart Gardens, where 55 acres of beautifully designed gardens bloom into seasonal floral displays.Continue into downtown and see the Inner Harbour, historic Bastion Square, and Thunderbird Park, home to remarkable Indigenous totem poles. Day 16 - VICTORIA
Enjoy a full day at leisure to explore Victoria, a charming coastal city known for its British heritage, historic architecture, and beautiful waterfront.Treat yourself to traditional afternoon tea at the elegant Fairmont Empress, browse the boutiques and local shops along Government Street, or relax over lunch at one of Victoria's welcoming cafés or traditional pubs. Your Tour Director will be happy to recommend additional ways to make the most of your free day.
Day 17 - VICTORIA–FERRY CROSSING–VANCOUVER
This morning, board a ferry across the Strait of Georgia, part of the Salish Sea, and cruise through the scenic Gulf Islands en route to the mainland. Arrive in Vancouver, where city sightseeing features the harbourfront, Stanley Park, and other famous landmarks. The remainder of the day is free to explore this vibrant city known for its incredible scenery, thriving art scene, diverse culture, and worldclass cuisine. Perhaps visit Robson Street and experience British Columbia’s premier shopping and entertainment district.
Day 18 - VANCOUVER (EMBARKATION)
Say goodbye to your Tour Director in Vancouver and board your Holland America cruise ship. Arrive in Juneau, Alaska’s capital, beautifully situated along the Gastineau Channel, with the towering Juneau Icefield and spectacular Mendenhall Glacier just beyond the city.Spend the day exploring at your own pace. Browse Juneau's locally owned shops and galleries, or choose from a variety of optional adventures, including kayaking, rafting, hiking, whale watching, flightseeing, or fishing. Day 21 - SKAGWAY
Step ashore in Skagway, the historic gateway to the Klondike Gold Rush. During the Gold Rush of 1898, thousands of prospectors with dreams of striking it rich poured into the city on their way to the Yukon in search of their fortunes. Explore gold rush lore at the Trail of ’98 Museum or stop by the Red Onion Saloon, where Gold Rush memorabilia tells the stories of colorful characters such a Klondike Kate, Peahull Annie, and others. Or choose to simply walk on the boardwalks, browse local shops, and soak up the atmosphere of one of Alaska's best-preserved Gold Rush towns. (B,L,D)
Day 22 - SCENIC CRUISING: GLACIER BAY
Cruise through Glacier Bay National Park and Preserve, a UNESCO World Heritage Site renowned for its dramatic fjords, towering mountains, and one of the world's greatest concentrations of actively calving tidewater glaciers.Watch in anticipation as massive walls of ancient ice crack, calve, and crash into the sea with a thunderous roar, sending towering waves across the bay. Day 23 - KETCHIKAN
Arrive in Ketchikan, known as Alaska’s “First City,” because it is the first major port of call for most cruisers entering the picturesque fjords of the Inside Passage. Set along the Tongass Narrows and flanked by the lush Tongass National Forest, Ketchikan is celebrated for its rich maritime heritage and vibrant Native cultures.Spend time exploring at your own pace.
