An Immersive Journey from Iceland’s Capital to the Heart of the Arctic

Embrace an immersive land and sea journey that begins in Reykjavík, where Iceland’s creative capital, the Golden Circle and soothing geothermal rituals set the tone for adventure. Then, board your ultra-luxury Scenic Discovery Yacht to trace the wild coasts of Iceland and East Greenland, from tiny fishing towns and dramatic fjords to Arctic islands, vast national parks and iceberg-studded waterways.
Your experience begins in Reykjavík, the world’s northernmost capital, where three nights give you time to explore its museums, harbourfront architecture and lively streets, framed by snow-capped peaks and wide Atlantic skies. Venture into the legendary Golden Circle to stand at Þingvellir’s rift valley, feel the power of Gullfoss waterfall and walk among steaming vents and geysers, before returning to the city to uncover cultural highlights, panoramic viewpoints and a deeply relaxing geothermal bathing ritual at Sky Lagoon. From Reykjavík, your immersive land and sea journey continues as you sail aboard Scenic Eclipse towards Iceland’s remote Westfjords and northern reaches, calling at Patreksfjörður, Grímsey Island on the Arctic Circle and the coastal town of Sauðárkrókur. Crossing to East Greenland, you explore Ittoqqortoormiit and then spend several days within the vast wilderness of Northeast Greenland National Park and the sculpted fjords of Scoresby Sund, where glaciers, ice formations and sheer rock walls define the horizon. Returning to Iceland, visits to Ísafjörður and Grundarfjörður reveal classic fjord landscapes and fishing heritage before your journey concludes in Reykjavík, completing the ultimate land and sea escape in the High North.

Day 1 - Reykjavik

Welcome to Reykjavík, the world’s northernmost capital city. Your journey into wonder begins with a three-night stay in Iceland’s quirky and creative heart.

Day 2 - Reykjavik

Enjoy a full-day discovery of Iceland’s legendary Golden Circle. Travel over Mosfellsheiði heath to Thingvellir, where Iceland’s early nationhood was shaped amid striking rift-valley scenery. Continue to Gullfoss, the ‘Golden Waterfall’, where 100,000 litres of glacial water plunges into the Gullfossgjúfur canyon every second. Then explore the geothermal area of Haukadalur, where steaming vents and geysers animate the landscape.

Day 3 - Reykjavík

Reykjavík brings together enlightening museums, gourmet restaurants, creative architecture and a vibrant nightlife, all set within the spellbinding landscape of snow-capped mountains and cerulean seas.

This afternoon, explore the city’s hidden jewels on an informative tour. Begin with the striking Harpa Concert Hall and the nearby Sólfar Sculpture, then follow your expert guide through character-filled streets as they share stories that bring the capital to life. Visit Perlan Museum offering panoramic views, interactive exhibits and a unique glacier experience. Later, indulge in a traditional Icelandic bathing ritual at Sky Lagoon.

Tonight, enjoy dinner in a popular local restaurant.

Day 4 - Reykjavik, Iceland

This morning, bid farewell to Reykjavík as you transfer to the port to embark Scenic Eclipse. Step on board and be greeted with a glass of Champagne as the Captain and crew welcome you to your home for the days ahead. Take time to settle into your spacious, elegantly appointed suite, then begin exploring your Scenic Discovery Yacht’s bars, lounges and wellness spaces at your own pace.

As evening falls, gather in the Sky Bar to meet fellow guests and raise a toast to the start of an unforgettable ultra-luxury voyage through Iceland and East Greenland, the perfect transition from land discovery to immersive exploration at sea.

Day 5 - Patreksfjörður, Iceland

Often described as the fjord of wonders, Patreksfjörður is the largest town in the southern Westfjords, surrounded by some of Iceland’s most dramatic coastal scenery. Nearby, millions of seabirds nest on the towering Látrabjarg cliffs, while sweeping beaches display sands ranging from powder-white to rich golden hues.

Join the Discovery Team for engaging talks in the state-of-the-art theatre, offering insight into the region’s geography, wildlife, and the fascinating destinations still to come. Please refer to the daily program for details.

For a truly unforgettable perspective, consider elevating your Icelandic experience and take an optional flight in one of two on board helicopters^, soaring above glaciers, volcanoes, and waterfalls to witness Iceland’s extraordinary landscapes from the air.

Day 6 - Grimsey Island, Iceland

Grímsey is a small island north of the Icelandic mainland, home to approximately only 100 people and one million seabirds. Nesting on the high cliffs that surround the island, the chatter of seabirds here is at its peak during the breeding season in summer, when the island enjoys 24 hours of daylight. This grassy outcrop straddles the Arctic Circle, making it one of the few places on earth where you can cross the Arctic Circle on foot – truly a once-in-a lifetime experience.

Day 7 - Sauðárkrókur, Iceland

The friendly town of Sauðárkrókur is located in a fertile valley along the southwestern shore of Skagafjörður Fjord. Although Sauðárkrókur was officially settled in 1871, it is linked to history dating back to the ancient Grettir’s Saga of the 13th-century. It’s the largest town in northwest Iceland, though is home to just over 2,500 people. The charming downtown will welcome you as you stroll through the small collection of distinctive, traditional buildings where the past seems to be brought back to life.

A true culinary journey awaits every day on board with up to 10 extraordinary all-inclusive culinary experiences and nine bars and lounges. As dusk falls, choose between steak and seafood at Elements, channel the spirit of Asia at Koko’s, or journey to France at Lumière+.

Day 8 - At Sea > Ittoqqortoormitt, Greenland

Nestled beside the world's largest and deepest multi-branched fjord system, Ittoqqortoormiit stands as one of Greenland's most remote towns. Home to approximately 350 residents, this small community offers a fascinating insight into the traditional Inuit way of life. Here, people have embraced a sea-dependent existence, where the ever-changing sea ice opens new opportunities for exploration. Learn the stories of the community's resilience, and explore key landmarks such as the museum, church, weather station and public service buildings.

Day 9 - Northeast Greenland National Park

Today you enter the vast wilderness of Northeast Greenland National Park, the largest national park on Earth. This immense Arctic realm is defined by towering glaciers, jagged mountain ranges and silent fjords that stretch endlessly into the distance. From the deck of your Scenic Discovery Yacht, take in the scale and stillness of one of the planet’s most remote and unspoilt environments, where nature remains truly untouched.

Day 10 - Northeast Greenland National Park

Another day unfolds within this extraordinary polar sanctuary. Icefields shimmer under shifting light, snow-draped peaks rise above mirror-like waters, and drifting ice creates ever-changing patterns across the fjords. The profound sense of isolation and serenity offers a rare chance to experience the Arctic in its purest form, far removed from the modern world.

Day 11 - Northeast Greenland National Park

As your journey through the high Arctic continues, keep watch for the remarkable wildlife that inhabits these extreme latitudes, from seals and seabirds to Arctic foxes and, on rare sightings, polar bears. Surrounded by sculpted ice formations, dramatic cliffs and vast open spaces, every view is a reminder of the raw beauty and untamed spirit of this remarkable region.

Day 12 - Scoresby Sund, Greenland

Scoresby Sund is the largest and deepest fjord system in the world, and the birthplace of many of Greenland’s glaciers. Be amazed by the mountainous surrounds, the lively wildlife and the memorable discoveries. Due to the extraordinary nature of the region, the sailing and expedition schedule is flexible. Your experienced Captain and Discovery Team Leader will use their expertise to give you the best experience in this extraordinary part of the world.

As we enter this magnificent fjord system, stand in awe on the Observation Terrace or your private verandah, where you can marvel at the sheer grandeur of your surroundings.

Day 13 - Scoresby Sund, Greenland

Experience an unforgettable journey through the breathtaking landscape of Scoresby Sund, a fjord that reaches a staggering 350 kilometres in length and plunges down 600 metres. On board Scenic Eclipse, you will navigate through a maze of towering icebergs that gently drift under Arctic waters, calving from parent glaciers from the Inland Ice.

Take in this awe-inspiring landscape from the Observation Deck alongside your expert Discovery Team, who can answer any questions you may have. Or perhaps you’d like to take it all in from the comfort of your private verandah.

Scenic Discovery:
Weather and conditions permitting, you may have the opportunity to join the Discovery Team on a hike across the tundra, looking for muskoxen and blue Arctic foxes blending into the basalt rock. Cruise in a Zodiac to view hauled-out walruses and seals resting along the shoreline, and keep watch for migratory minke, humpback and fin whales.

Day 14 - Ísafjörður, Iceland

Characterised by deep, blue fjords, separated by flat-topped mountains, Ísafjörður is the largest settlement in the Westfjords of Iceland. Explore remote Iceland from one of the most stunning towns in the country, with old timber framed houses and architecture. Bursting with a wealth of wildlife, keep your eyes peeled for birds and Arctic foxes on the cliffs, seals on the coast and whales in the surrounding ocean.

Day 15 - Grundarfjörður, Iceland

Nestled within the breathtaking landscapes of the Snæfellsnes Peninsula, Grundarfjörður exudes charm with its quaint fishing village atmosphere and vibrant, colourful houses. As you wander its winding streets, you'll be captivated by the picturesque scenery at every turn.

Dominating the skyline is the iconic Kirkjufell, affectionately known as Church Mountain, which stands as a majestic backdrop to this idyllic coastal community. Its distinctive silhouette, often shrouded in mist or bathed in the golden glow of sunset, has made it one of the most photographed mountains in all of Iceland, adding to the allure of this enchanting village.

Day 16 - Reykjavik, Iceland

As your journey concludes, bid farewell in the vibrant city of Reykjavik, the world’s northernmost capital city in a country of extremes. It’s the gateway to Iceland’s Golden Circle, a scenic volcanic landscape where geysers, waterfalls and glaciers are found. The city is the country’s creative heart, filled with colourful buildings, a buzzing night scene and brimming with museums.
