- The Great Migration is a natural event, and the movements of the migrating herds are difficult to predict year to year., The herds are in the Serengeti between late November and July.. River crossings are more of a challenge, and we’ll adjust game viewing if there is an opportunity to witness this rare and extraordinary sight!
- All game viewing is done at your own risk. We will require a signed liability waiver prior to travel.
- We do not recommend this holiday to people with serious back problems, as it can be quite rough driving on/off road in/between game parks.
- Filtered water: Included on all game activities.
- All guests travelling to Zanzibar are required to pay a mandatory tourism tax (up to $5USD per night per room) which must be collected directly from the guest upon hotel check-out. Further, mandatory travel insurance through the Zanzibar Insurance Company (est. $44USD per person per trip) is also required. This is regardless of any extensive medical, travel and evacuation insurance guests may have. Guests can purchase this insurance prior to their arrival via the https://visitzanzibar.go.tz/ website. This tax cannot be prepaid by your tour company.

Day 1 - ARRIVE IN ARUSHA, TANZANIA.
Welcome to Africa! Hotel rooms are available for mid-afternoon check-in.
Day 2 - ARUSHA-TARANGIRE NATIONAL PARK AREA
Drive south to Tarangire National Park this morning. After lunch, embark on your first game drive in search of the "Big 5"-lion, leopard, elephant, rhino, and Cape buffalo. (B,L,D)
Day 3 - TARANGIRE AREA
Enjoy panoramic views of baobab and acacia trees on morning and afternoon game drives. Search for the elephant, eland, zebra, and Cape buffalo that congregate around the waterholes. (B,L,D)
Day 4 - TARANGIRE AREA-LAKE MANYARA NATIONAL PARK AREA
Say goodbye to Tarangire on a final morning game drive. Drive to your lodge in the Lake Manyara area in time for lunch, followed by time at leisure. (B,L,D) Today's I-Time Tips Visit a local village to learn more about day-to-day life.
Day 5 - LAKE MANYARA AREA-NGORONGORO CONSERVATION AREA
Lake Manyara National Park is a small, ecologically diverse park with groundwater forests, grassy plains, and alkaline namesake, Lake Manyara. itself. The park is also home to the world's largest concentration of baboon. Watch for these mischievous primates, giraffe, hippo, and more on your morning game drive. Drive to your lodge on the slopes of Ngorongoro Crater. (B,L,D) Today's I-Time Tips Visit a local primary school to meet the children and learn about the educational system in rural Tanzania.
Day 6 - NGORONGORO AREA
Today, enjoy a full-day game drive in Ngorongoro Crater. The crater is the world's largest unflooded caldera-at more than 2,000 feet deep with a floor covering over 102 square miles. Game viewing here is fantastic, as most of the animals stay in this area year-round. You can see lion, elephant, flamingo, and a variety of other animals. This is also your best chance to see the rare black rhinoceros. A picnic lunch will be served in the crater. (B,L,D)
Day 7 - NGORONGORO AREA-SERENGETI NATIONAL PARK
Today, drive to Serengeti National Park, Tanzania's largest and most famous park. Home to the annual Great Migration of wildebeest and zebra, it attracts visitors from around the world and is great for game viewing year-round. Enjoy lunch prior to your afternoon game drive. (B,L,D)
Day 8 - SERENGETI
Covering an area of roughly 5,700 square miles, the name Serengeti comes from the Maasai word siringit (endless plains). Join your expert Driver/Guide for morning and afternoon game drives to further explore this vast park. Search for leopard, rhino, and an abundance of other animals, including cheetah, giraffe, gazelle, and eland. Day 9 - SERENGETI
Your final magical day exploring this wildlife lover's dream destination on morning and afternoon game drives. Set out in search of some of your Favourites or, with some luck, spot animals that have eluded you! (B,L,D)
Day 10 - SERENGETI-STONE TOWN, ZANZIBAR
Embark on one final game drive before flying to Stone Town (via Arusha), a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Settle into your oceanfront hotel. (B)
Day 11 - STONE TOWN
Guided walking tour of Stone Town to see the Old Fort, National Palace, slave caves, and the spice markets. Visit Jozani Forest for a guided walk to learn about the forest fauna and see the rare red Colobus monkey, found only in Zanzibar. Free time in the late afternoon and evening. Consider a snorkel experience from a traditional dhow sailing vessel, listening to taarab music at a local club, or immersing yourself in the Zanzibar culture by dining on cushions at a local restaurant. Day 12 - STONE TOWN-DAR ES SALAAM
Fly to Dar es Salaam, where a day room has been reserved for your convenience. Schedule departing flights after 4 pm. (B)
