Princess Cruises depart from major Australian cities including Sydney, Brisbane, Melbourne, Adelaide and, for the first time, Perth (Fremantle). Sydney serves as the main hub with more than 80 itineraries across Australia and New Zealand, the South Pacific, Tahiti, Asia and world cruises. Brisbane offers around 30 itineraries focused largely on Australia and New Zealand, while Adelaide provides select options such as Round Australia voyages.
Princess cruise ships offer fast Wi-Fi at sea, however this isn't included as standard.
Ideal for travelling families, Princess ships include a Youth & Teen Club for kids aged 3–17 with separate areas for each age group so every kid is entertained. Children aged 3-12 can partake in group games, educational programs, sports, dance sessions, theme nights, mini golf and craft activities such as jewellery making or cake decorating.
Teens have their own lounge where they can watch movies, play video games, join dance classes and spend time with others their age. Some evenings also include kids’ dinner events. The littlest travellers onboard from 6 months – 2 years old will have fun safely exploring the Youth & Teen Club spaces too during parent‑accompanied hours.
As part of the Princess Standard fare, breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks are complimentary at selected onboard restaurants and cafés. These vary by ship but typically include a Main Dining Room, the World Fresh Marketplace buffet, and the 24-hour International Café with snacks, desserts and coffee. Poolside, options such as soft‑serve ice cream, homemade burgers and hot dogs are also available at no extra cost.
Princess offers Casual Dining for an additional charge, including pub‑style meals and elevated casual options like gourmet pizza at certain eateries. Specialty Dining restaurants offer a more premium experience, featuring dishes created by award‑winning chefs, including fresh seafood and signature steaks. For the added dining flexibility, choose either the Princess Premier fare for unlimited Casual and Specialty Dining at an additional $129 per day, or Princess Plus fare for four Casual Dining meals per guest at $79 a day.
You don’t have to dress up on a Princess cruise, however most people dress for comfort during the day and switch to smart casual in the evenings. You might still want to pack one or two nicer outfits—especially if you’re thinking about dining in a Specialty Restaurant, catching a show in the theatre, or trying something special like the exclusive fine dining Chef’s Table Lumiere on Royal‑class ships, which calls for an elegant outfit to match.
Like any trip, it’s helpful to bring a mix of clothing to suit every occasion, including the unexpected dinner or a night of entertainment.
