While Avalon Waterways offers many of the similar premium features as other luxury river cruise lines, including elegant ships, relaxed cruising and fewer crowds, it is best known for a couple of key differences.
A standout feature is the innovative suite design across the Avalon Suite Ships fleet, designed to connect guests more closely to destination. Award-winning Panorama Suites feature wall-to-wall, floor-to-ceiling windows, Open-Air Balconies and beds that face the view rather than the wall. These suites are approximately 30% larger than the industry standard, offering some of the widest views in river cruising across Europe's waterways and the Mekong River.
Avalon’s spacious Royal Suites are larger again, while retaining the same signature panoramic design and view-focused layout.
Beyond the suites, Avalon places a strong emphasis on personalising the shore experience through its Avalon Choice excursions, offering guests a few activities to choose from each day. Guests can choose from Active, Classic or Discovery experiences based on their interests. whether that's cycling through the countryside, visiting historic landmarks, or exploring local culture.
Avalon's dedicated Active & Discovery cruise itineraries takes this concept even further, with themed cruises such as culinary experiences through Burgundy and Provence on a French river cruise.
The Panorama Suite on Avalon’s Suite Ships is essentially a balcony stateroom reimagined, taking river cruising to new heights.
With a revolutionary Open-Air Balcony design made possible by wall-to-wall, floor-to-ceiling windows that open seven feet wide, plus a Comfort Collection Bed facing the view, guests are immersed in scenery along Europe’s rivers and the Mekong through Vietnam and Cambodia before even stepping outside their suite.
