What does MedallionClass® mean on Princess Cruises?
Princess MedallionClass® centres around a small Medallion® wearable which unlocks unique experiences on board. Features include touch-free boarding, keyless stateroom entry, the ability to locate travel companions, make onboard purchases and more.

The Princess® Cruises App interacts with the Medallion® so you can order food and drink via your smartphone and have it delivered straight to your deck chair thanks to the trackable Medallion®.

The Medallion® wearable is complimentary for all Princess guests, regardless of fare type, though OceanNow® delivery via the Medallion® may come with a fee depending on the fare booked. To not lose sight of their Medallion®, some cruisers wear it with optional accessories (sold separately on board), including sports bands, bracelets or necklaces.
Are Princess Cruises all-inclusive?
It depends on which fare you book.

Princess Standard is the base rate and covers your chosen room, complimentary dining at set venues, entertainment such as Broadway-style productions, plus the MedallionClass® wearable. OceanNow® delivery is available—just at an extra cost (order via the Princess app and crew will locate you via the Medallion wearable).

For a step up, Princess Plus adds a drinks package, Wi-Fi (1 device per guest), 4 casual dining meals per guest and free room service for $79 a day, and it waives the OceanNow® fee. For the all-inclusive onboard experience, Princess Premier gives you unlimited Specialty and Casual Dining, a premium drinks package, a photo package, and a shore excursion credit, for $129 a day.

If you’ve got a Standard fare quote, simply multiply the daily upgrade cost of either Plus or Premier by your number of cruise days for an idea of the additional cost.
Which Australian ports do Princess cruises depart from?

Princess Cruises depart from major Australian cities including Sydney, Brisbane, Melbourne, Adelaide and, for the first time, Perth (Fremantle). Sydney serves as the main hub with more than  80 itineraries across Australia and New Zealand, the South Pacific, Tahiti, Asia and world cruises. Brisbane offers around 30 itineraries focused largely on Australia and New Zealand, while Adelaide provides select options such as Round Australia voyages.

Melburnians can choose from convenient short seacations through to longer coastal sailings and world‑cruise voyages. And now, with departures from Perth (Fremantle), travellers can head to places like Indonesia, the Kimberley and other stunning north Australia regions.
Is there Wi-Fi on Princess cruises?

Princess cruise ships offer fast Wi-Fi at sea, however this isn't included as standard.

To stay connected, book your holiday on either the Princess Plus fare to receive unlimited Wi-Fi access on one device for one guest in a stateroom, or opt for Princess Premier for unlimited Wi-Fi for up to four devices per guest. The high-speed internet service, MedallionNet® Max, allows you to text or video call friends and family, share photos to your social media, and stream your favourite content throughout the ship.
What programs and activities do Princess cruises have for children?

Ideal for travelling families, Princess ships include a Youth & Teen Club for kids aged 3–17 with separate areas for each age group so every kid is entertained. Children aged 3-12 can partake in group games, educational programs, sports, dance sessions, theme nights, mini golf and craft activities such as jewellery making or cake decorating.

Teens have their own lounge where they can watch movies, play video games, join dance classes and spend time with others their age. Some evenings also include kids’ dinner events. The littlest travellers onboard from 6 months – 2 years old will have fun safely exploring the Youth & Teen Club spaces too during parent‑accompanied hours.

How does the dining work on a Princess cruise?

As part of the Princess Standard fare, breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks are complimentary at selected onboard restaurants and cafés. These vary by ship but typically include a Main Dining Room, the World Fresh Marketplace buffet, and the 24-hour International Café with snacks, desserts and coffee. Poolside, options such as soft‑serve ice cream, homemade burgers and hot dogs are also available at no extra cost.

Princess offers Casual Dining for an additional charge, including pub‑style meals and elevated casual options like gourmet pizza at certain eateries. Specialty Dining restaurants offer a more premium experience, featuring dishes created by award‑winning chefs, including fresh seafood and signature steaks. For the added dining flexibility, choose either the Princess Premier fare for unlimited Casual and Specialty Dining at an additional $129 per day, or Princess Plus fare for four Casual Dining meals per guest at $79 a day.

Do I have to dress up on a Princess cruise?

You don’t have to dress up on a Princess cruise, however most people dress for comfort during the day and switch to smart casual in the evenings. You might still want to pack one or two nicer outfits—especially if you’re thinking about dining in a Specialty Restaurant, catching a show in the theatre, or trying something special like the exclusive fine dining Chef’s Table Lumiere on Royal‑class ships, which calls for an elegant outfit to match.

Like any trip, it’s helpful to bring a mix of clothing to suit every occasion, including the unexpected dinner or a night of entertainment.
