Travelmarvel offers a wide range of holidays across the globe, including river cruises, rail journeys, coastal cruising, land tours, ocean cruises and even 4WD adventures.
Popular options include Mekong River cruises through Vietnam and Cambodia, the European Gems journey between Budapest and Amsterdam (or reverse), Christmas market cruises through Europe, and scenic sailings along Portugal’s Douro River.
They also specialise in Adriatic coastal cruising and Kimberley expeditions, while their rail tours provide a different way to explore destinations across the USA, Europe and Canada.
For a more intimate experience, Travelmarvel’s Small Group Tours are capped at just 24 guests. These are led by expert guides and feature stays in premium hotels across Australia, Asia, New Zealand, South America, Africa, Canada, Alaska and beyond.
Travelmarvel river cruises, coastal cruises, and oceans cruises are mostly all-inclusive, with some meals excluded when guests are exploring cities and towns during free time.
Select beverages including beer, soft drinks and local wines are only served during onboard lunch and dinner.
Transfers, port charges and tipping are all included.
Every Travelmarvel cruise features at least one shore excursion led by local guides, with some itineraries offering additional optional experiences at an extra cost.
Tour numbers vary, with maximum group sizes of around 18 to 24 guests on Travelmarvel’s 4WD Australian outback tours and Small Group Tours across destinations such as Africa, Canada & Alaska, New Zealand, Europe and Asia. Standard land tours are typically larger.
On Travelmarvel tours, travellers are typically aged 55 and over, although this can vary by itinerary and destination. Due to the lower price point and more flexible inclusions compared to their luxury brand APT, there are also younger travellers in their 40s—particularly on shorter or more active itineraries. Generally speaking, across both tours and cruises, most Travelmarvel guests are retirees in their 60s and 70s.
Travelmarvel is part of the family-owned Australian Pacific Touring (APT) Travel Group, which operates out of Melbourne.
While APT and Travelmarvel both offer a wide range of tours and cruises across the globe, with European river cruising being a specialty for both, APT operates in the luxury travel space, and Travelmarvel in the premium space—offering quality accommodation and great value holidays at a lower price point.
Generally speaking, when comparing land tours, APT tends to include more activities – at times multiple activities in a single day (Signature Experiences) and a choice of additional activities (Freedom of Choice) on others at no extra cost. Travelmarvel includes less activities (Insider Experiences), with optional experiences at an additional cost, allowing a little more flexibility in how travellers choose to spend their time.
