Are shore excursions included on Viking cruises?
Every Viking River, Ocean, or Expedition cruise includes at least one shore excursion for every port visited. This could include a visit to Cambodia’s UNESCO World Heritage Listed Angkor Wat on a Mekong River Cruise, a walking tour of Paris on a Europe River Cruise, a sightseeing tour of Buenos Aires on a South American ocean cruise or kayaking among glaciers on an Antarctica Expedition. The number of included shore excursions vary by itinerary and destination. Optional shore excursions can be booked ahead of time or booked onboard if there’s still availability.
Are Viking cruises all-inclusive?
Although they are mostly inclusive, Viking voyages are not truly all-inclusive, as they don’t include beverages outside of lunch or dinner service, and premium beverages are at an additional cost. Specialty coffees and assorted teas are free of charge, however, 24 hours a day. Inclusions on a Viking River cruise may vary slightly to an ocean cruise purely because ocean cruise ships have different offerings.
Which Australian ports do Viking cruises depart from?
Viking doesn’t sail direct from Australia – you would need to fly to the destination and board your river, ocean, or expedition cruise from the designated departure port noted in your itinerary. So that you can settle in before you embark the following day, Viking offers pre-cruise extensions, or you can organise a stay in a hotel of your choosing.
What is included on Viking ocean cruises?
All the essentials of your Viking ocean cruise are covered. Receive a complimentary shore excursion in every port, free Wi-Fi, all meals, plus dining at alternative restaurants, beer, wine and soft drinks with lunch and dinner. 24-hour coffees, teas and bottled water are also included. Enjoy enrichment lectures, destination themed performances, and access to The Nordic Spa and Fitness Centre. There are self-service launderettes, 24-hour room service, and gratuities included. Spa treatments and premium beverages cost extra.
Are drinks included on Viking cruises?
Beer, wine and soft drinks are included with onboard lunch and dinner, however premium beverages are not included. Guests can upgrade to the Silver Spirits beverage package for a daily fee to enjoy unlimited beverages in all venues onboard including cocktails, house champagne and select wines by the glass. Outside of lunch and dinner service, drinks are available to purchase at an additional cost.
Are gratuities included on Viking cruises?
Yes, onboard gratuities are already included in your Viking River, Ocean or Expedition cruise so you won't need to tip the crew unless you feel a staff member has gone above and beyond with their service.
