Frequently asked questions
Yes, Wendy Wu is suitable for solo travellers, with a range of solo tour options.
Solo travellers can join any of the Wendy Wu Classic Tours, such as the popular Japan Uncovered or Wonders of China —and either stay in a single room at an additional cost (payable by a single supplement fee), or by choosing the Happy to Share option and sharing a room with a fellow solo traveller of the same gender who has also selected this option.
Wendy Wu’s Go Beyond Tours are not as highly structured as Classic Tours and allow for more independent exploration, so these may be a preferable option for some solo travellers. Go Beyond Tours are available across many destinations including Costa Rica, Vietnam and Cambodia, Mongolia and Thailand.
Some Classic Tours, such as Inspiring India, offer selected dedicated solo departures at no additional cost. On these departures, the single supplement is waived, all travellers receive their own room, and the journey is shared with like-minded companions.
Wendy Wu tour numbers range from just 18 guests on their Go Beyond and Dedicated Solo Departure groups to 28 guests on their Classic Tours.
Tour groups are kept smaller on Go Beyond Tours as they’re designed to take travellers off the regular tourist path (though iconic sites are still included). Experiences might include taking a tango class in Buenos Aires and staying in a salt hotel in the edge of Bolivia’s salt flats on a South America tour, or taking part in an African drumming experience on a unique South Africa Christmas tour.
