Day 1 - Arrive Kasane, Chobe Game Lodge

Upon arrival in Kasane, you will be greeted and transferred to your lodge – marking the exciting beginning of your unforgettable adventure. Meet your APT Tour Director and later this evening, join your fellow travellers for a welcome dinner.

Enjoy an immersive three-night stay at Chobe Game Lodge – the only permanent lodge located within Chobe National Park – offering unrivalled access to the park’s wilderness.

Day 2 - Chobe Game Lodge

This morning, embark on an exhilarating game drive through Chobe National Park – Botswana’s first national park and a sanctuary renowned for its impressive herds of elephants and diverse wildlife. After a relaxing break at your lodge, set out on a captivating boat safari this afternoon along the Chobe River, where the cool water attracts an abundance of animals from the surrounding sunbaked bush.

Day 3 - Chobe Game Lodge

Continue your exploration of Chobe National Park with a morning game drive, offering you the chance to spot buffalo, elephants, impalas and giraffes, as well as predators, including lions, wild dogs and leopards. With a bit of luck, you might spot the elusive puku – an antelope species found only in wet grasslands – alongside a spectacular array of birdlife that defies listing. Take time to unwind on the lodge’s tranquil boardwalk, gazing out across the river, before setting off again ahead of sunset to witness the magic of the bush as it stirs with wildlife.

Day 4 - Chobe Game Lodge, Sediba Sa Rona (Okavango Delta)

This morning after breakfast, board a light aircraft for your flight to a private concession in the Okavango Delta, the largest inland delta in the world. Upon arrival, you will be met and transferred to your luxurious tented camp. Later, enjoy a thrilling game activity, where you have the opportunity to spot the lion, leopard, rhinoceros, elephant and African buffalo, as well as other incredible wildlife before returning to the camp for dinner.

Signature Experience – Sediba Sa Rona

Settle into your luxurious tented camp in the heart of the Okavango Delta, where you'll spend the next three nights. Nestled within the Khwai River floodplain, the camp offers front-row access to serene landscapes and remarkable wildlife encounters.

Day 5 - Sediba Sa Rona (Okavango Delta)

Set off on an incredible morning game activity before returning to your camp for time to relax and reminisce about the morning's adventures. In the afternoon, another exciting game activity awaits.

Your luxurious tented camp in the Okavango Delta offers many opportunities for game activities during your stay, including 4WD game drives, a cruise in a mokoro (a traditional dugout canoe), bird watching and night drives.

Day 6 - Sediba Sa Rona (Okavango Delta)

Today, continue discovering the magic of this extraordinary region, with your camp perfectly positioned amid the area's diverse ecosystems, offering exceptional wildlife encounters year-round. Glide along the serene Khwai River in a traditional mokoro, exploring the river's peaceful side channels while keeping an eye out for game along the way. Round off your day with another unforgettable game viewing adventure, before returning to the comfort of your camp to savour a delicious dinner.

Day 7 - Sediba Sa Rona (Okavango Delta), Cape Town

This morning, enjoy breakfast before being transferred to a local airstrip for your light aircraft flight to Maun. Then, join your onward flight to Cape Town. On arrival, you will be transferred to your luxurious hotel. This evening, a welcome dinner awaits, where you'll meet your fellow travellers joining you in Cape Town.

Day 8 - Cape Town

After breakfast, head out to discover charming Cape Town. Take a guided tour of the Castle of Good Hope, which was built by Dutch colonialists from 1666 to 1679 and is considered to be the oldest surviving colonial-era building in South Africa. Visit the District Six Museum and immerse yourself in powerful exhibitions that shed light on the culture and deeply moving history of Cape Town during the Apartheid era. Afterwards, ride the aerial cableway to the top of Table Mountain, where panoramic vistas of the city and its surrounds await. Tonight, choose where to dine.

Day 9 - Cape Town, Cape Peninsula

After breakfast this morning, you’ll embark on a breathtaking journey along Chapman’s Peak Drive, widely regarded as one of the world's most scenic stretches of road. Soak up glorious views of the South African coast and catch glimpses of quaint villages en route to the southernmost tip of Africa, Cape Point. Then, continue to Simon’s Town for a delicious lunch. Nearby lies Boulders Beach, home to a vivacious colony of penguins. Enjoy observing these fascinating creatures before returning to your hotel.

Day 10 - Cape Town, Stellenbosch

Today unfolds on your own terms with a range of Freedom of Choice sightseeing activities on offer. Afterwards, head to Stellenbosch, known for its picturesque oak-lined streets, historic buildings and old-world charm. Settle into your luxurious accommodation, the opulent Lanzerac Hotel. Spend the afternoon relaxing in the serene atmosphere of the elegant estate, set against the backdrop of magnificent mountains and lush gardens.

Learn about the prison where Nelson Mandela was incarcerated from 1964 to 1982, as well as life on the island.

Enjoy a stroll along the Victoria & Alfred Waterfront after visiting Brundyn Arts and Culture – a must-visit destination for art enthusiasts, featuring contemporary paintings, sculptures, photography and installations. Conclude your experience with a rooftop drink at the iconic Silo Hotel.

Day 11 - Stellenbosch

Day 12 - Stellenbosch, Kruger National Park

Fly to Kruger today and transfer to your private lodge, nestled within the sprawling 15,000-hectare Kapama Private Game Reserve in Kruger National Park. Your luxurious safari accommodation for the next three nights offers many opportunities to seek out the local inhabitants. With around 40 different mammal species, including the spotted hyena and greater kudu, along with over 300 bird species, the park is home to an abundance of wildlife. This evening, unwind with a round of sundowners as you bask in a breathtaking African sunset, followed by a sumptuous dinner.

Day 13 - Kruger National Park

Begin today with a Signature Experience, where you'll set out on an incredible early morning game drive. Afterwards, return to your luxurious lodge and enjoy time to relax and reminisce about the morning’s adventures before embarking on another thrilling game drive in the afternoon. Cap off the day with another sensational Signature Experience beneath a starlit sky.

Rise early for a morning game drive, which presents the perfect opportunity to spot animals such as giraffes, birdlife and the Little Five (the elephant shrew, antlion, rhinoceros beetle, buffalo weaver and leopard tortoise) roaming in the wild.

After an exhilarating day of game drives in Kruger National Park, enjoy a mesmerising boma dinner under the stars. Day 14 - Kruger National Park

This morning, you may like to join your experienced guides for an enthralling bushwalk. Immerse yourself in the wild and unspoiled landscape as you are taught how to look out for animal tracks and learn about some of the local fauna used for numerous medicinal purposes. Later, enjoy another exhilarating game viewing experience from the comfort of a vehicle, followed by a sundown toast to all the incredible sights you have encountered throughout the day.

Day 15 - Kruger National Park, Johannesburg

Enjoy a final morning game drive, then board a flight to Johannesburg, where you will stay overnight in preparation for your flight to Livingstone tomorrow morning. 

Day 16 - Johannesburg, Livingstone

Fly to Livingstone and, upon arrival, set out on a tour of Victoria Falls from the Zambian side. Straddling the border between Zambia and Zimbabwe, Victoria Falls is known locally as Mosi-oa-Tunya (The Smoke That Thunders). As the world’s largest sheet of falling water, this striking natural wonder cascades over 1,700 metres in width and plunges 108 metres into the gorge below. Learn about the history of the Falls and its significant geological features. In the late afternoon, embark on a breathtaking sunset cruise along the Zambezi River. Savour sundowners and canapés served against the backdrop of a magnificent African sunset.

Day 17 - Livingstone

You may like to wake early this morning and take advantage of your hotel’s direct access to the Falls, enjoying the tranquillity of this breathtaking location before indulging in a delicious breakfast. How you'd like to spend today is up to you with a range of Freedom of Choice activities on offer. Round off the day with a delectable dinner at your hotel.

Embark on a cultural tour of an authentic local village in Livingstone, then visit the vibrant Maramba Market.

Take part in a walking safari along the Zambezi River in the heart of Mosi-oa-Tunya National Park. Delight in a unique opportunity to experience the natural world from a different perspective.

Day 18 - Livingstone

Perhaps rise early once again to make the most of your hotel’s direct access to the Falls, soaking up the serene beauty of the morning mist and cascading waters. Afterwards, savour breakfast in this spectacular setting. Later, enjoy a Signature Experience, where you'll marvel at the spectacular sight of Victoria Falls and the surrounding plains from a helicopter flight. Tonight, another unforgettable Signature Experience awaits.

Day 20 - Nairobi, Ngorongoro Crater

Fly via Kilimanjaro to the Lake Manyara airstrip in Tanzania, where you will travel by 4WD vehicle to your beautiful lodge. Take some time to unwind at your own pace and soak up the tranquil surroundings before a flavourful dinner. 

Day 21 - Ngorongoro Crater

Today, you will enjoy a picnic lunch in the Ngorongoro Crater, giving you time to take in the outstanding landscape. Often referred to as ‘Africa’s Garden of Eden’ and one of the Seven Natural Wonders of Africa, the crater is surrounded by 600-metre high walls, providing a natural enclosure to vast numbers of wildebeest, zebras, gazelles and lions. Make sure you have your camera ready to capture the abundant wildlife.

Day 22 - Ngorongoro Crater, Karatu

Immerse yourself in two incredible Signature Experiences this morning. Afterwards, savour a traditional lunch before returning to your lodge for time at leisure. Explore the gardens and the lodge's own farm, where much of the fresh produce used in the restaurant is grown. Relish a delicious dinner this evening.

Day 24 - Serengeti National Park

Set off on a game drive at sunrise, where you’ll encounter an awe-inspiring array of animals, which may include wildebeest, impalas and African buffalos. Return to your luxurious lodge for some relaxation time, soaking up the stunning views and perhaps taking a refreshing dip in the infinity pool while basking in the African sun. Day 25 - Serengeti National Park

On your third day in this remarkable national park, seize the opportunity to spot any wildlife you may have missed during yesterday's game drives. Enjoy the chance to discover a wide range of smaller creatures, from vibrant birdlife through to the fascinating insects that call this diverse ecosystem home.

Day 26 - Serengeti National Park, Maasai Mara

Board a light aircraft for your scenic flight to the expansive Maasai Mara, a vast and stunning wilderness teeming with wildlife and breathtaking vistas. Upon arrival, embark on an off-road journey through the savanna on your first game drive, where you'll enjoy the chance to encounter rare animals. Afterwards, retire to your luxurious tented retreat, complete with a large, comfortable bed, Persian rugs, cosy armchairs, and a private en suite with solar-heated water.

Day 27 - Maasai Mara

Wake to the enchanting symphony of the African bush as you prepare to head out on a thrilling morning game drive through the private Mara North Conservancy. Afterwards, spend the early afternoon relaxing at the camp, perhaps watching resident hippos in the Mara River from your deck.
