Many operators offer solo-friendly tours. Wendy Wu features dedicated Solo Traveller departures on selected tours across destinations including Japan, China and Vietnam, with a guaranteed private room and no single supplement. Insight Vacations offers both Women-Only tours and dedicated solo-only departures, including a private room with no single supplement, across destinations such as Italy, Croatia, Spain and Portugal.
Solo travellers can also join the vast majority of Intrepid tours, enjoying the freedom of independent travel alongside the support of an experienced local leader and a small group of like-minded travellers.
Intrepid Travel also offers dedicated Women's Expeditions in destinations such as Morocco, Jordan and Saudi Arabia, designed exclusively for female travellers seeking unique cultural experiences with other like-minded women.
G Adventures also caters to solo travellers, with most small group tours open to solo bookings and dedicated Solo-ish departures available in destinations such as Bali and New Zealand.
Many tour operators also offer reduced or waived single supplements on selected departures, making solo travel more affordable while providing the comfort of a room of your own.
Not always. While some operators charge a single supplement for travellers wanting their own room, many offer ways to avoid or reduce the cost.
Wendy Wu Tours, for example, offers selected dedicated Solo Traveller departures on some of its most popular tours, with a guaranteed private room and no single supplement. Insight Vacations features solo-only departures that also include a private room at no extra cost.
Intrepid Travel welcomes solo travellers on most tours. Where available, travellers can choose to share a room with another same-gender solo traveller to avoid paying a single supplement, or upgrade to a private room for an additional cost. G Adventures similarly pairs solo travellers with a same-gender roommate at no extra cost, with private room upgrades available on many departures.
Globus and Cosmos regularly feature solo traveller promotions, including reduced or waived single supplements on selected tours.
For solo cruising, operators such as Ponant frequently offer free solo supplement promotions on selected departures, allowing travellers to enjoy a stateroom of their own at no extra cost. Scenic also regularly features reduced or waived solo supplements on selected river and ocean cruise departures.
